These guys were really cool back in the day. I played a show with them back in the early 90's when I was in Floyd. Not sure how well known they were outside Canada. I know they had some success Stateside as well. Anyone else remember Teenage Head?

And Pointed Sticks, oh yeah! Actually, I bought their "Perfect Youth" at the same time than the Teenage Heads album, and also friend copied me their early singles, which were even better than the album. Definetly top of early 80?s power pop- bands.
And also from Canada, and from same era, The Modernettes- anybody? "Teen City" is a classic!

Ya' Pointed Sticks were a great band. They were even signed with Englands Stiff Records at one point. Out of luck is an awesome tune. Marky you'll be happy to know Joey Shitheads label "Sudden Death" is re-releasing "Perfect Youth on CD at the end of this month! I was in the studio last Sunday recording a couple of songs with The McRackins for an upcoming 7" and The Original Subhumans were just leaving as we were coming in. They are apparently recording a new CD with I believe all the original members including Jerry Hannah. Too bizarre huh?
Modernettes were another great band from the early Vancouver punk scene. We covered "Rebel Kind" for a compilation CD a few years back. I always loved the song "Barbra" the video was really cool for that tune as well. I got the Modernettes anthology that Zulu Records put out in the mid 90's. I'd love to get the band "Slow" on CD. I have their debut "Against the glass" which was amazing EP. Marky they went on to become "Circle C" or Copyright as the became later. Another great band that people just didn't get or latch onto.

They were kinda like The Ramones of Canada back in there day.
